PhD internship International Policy Analysis (80 - 100%)
The PhD internship is for a duration of 6 or 12 months and is located in Zurich. Starting date: ideally 1 July 2023 or by arrangement. The International Policy Analysis unit conducts analytical work and research, drafts research-based policy notes, participates in international working groups, and advises the top management of the SNB on international economic policy issues. The position offers excellent opportunities to collaborate and co-author with our experienced economists on academic and policy relevant research projects. It will allow you to apply your skills to produce research with a tangible value-added and to develop your analytical competences. It will also help you gain a deeper understanding of the SNB's policymaking process.
What you bring:
- Collaborate on empirical and theoretical research projects related to international policy-relevant issues.
- Contribute to internal and external publications.
Your knowledge and experience:
- Currently enrolled in a PhD program in economics, having completed the mandatory coursework and with some experience in research projects.
- Sound knowledge of international macroeconomics, major theoretical and econometric methods, as well as strong coding skills in languages such as Stata, R or Python.
- Excellent command of English as well as some knowledge of German or French.
- Strong inherent motivation, cooperative attitude and sense of responsibility, as well as the ability to work in an autonomous and output-oriented manner.
